Can I consume both water and sports drinks in the same exercise session?

It all depends on your physical activity requirements and intensity. You can still reap the electrolytes and carbohydrates of the sports drink even if you consume it together with water. However if the intensity of your activity is of such nature that you need optimal electrolyte and carbohydrate levels, it is better to consume sports drinks alone during the session.
