Must I drink 8 glasses of water every day to be sufficiently hydrated?

The theory on drinking 8 glasses of water will not be a guarantee that you will be sufficiently hydrated. Being in an optimal hydration state requires bringing several factors in to play such as your activity level, age, health status etc.  In order to be properly hydrated you should drink the half of your weight in pounds in flowing ounces. If you weigh 180 pounds, you should drink 60 ounces of water.
